• Direct all compliance activities required by the Novartis Financial Controls Manual (NFCM) Internal Audit and ensures external auditors are satisfied as prerequisite for the Division’s year end assertions over financial controls• Leading the financial controls & compliance function for Novartis Gene Therapies Division• Manage the process of ensuring that all relevant controls as defined under the NFCM are identified, implemented, evidenced and remediated as necessary to ensure compliance for the year• Direct the team to ensure controls are in place and operating effectively according to Novartis Financial Controls Manual

• Responsible for executing financial compliance audits for 13 business units in USA. • Tracking Sox assessment/IA issue closure within USA and ensure timely/effective remediation• Deliver and maintain high quality, relevant and timely management of internal controls over financial reporting (including Walkthroughs/Control Assessment, Testing in TP1 and TP2, SOX 404 Attestations)• Build strong relationships and give transparent reporting to provide the necessary comfort level to the NFCM Governance Board, US FSC Leadership Team, and to achieve CEO's and CFO's SOX 404 signoffs, without any reservations• Coaching and mentoring business process owners Novartis Financial Control framework

• Responsible for managing & driving end to end Segregation of Duties process across the organization• Publishing monthly department wise SOD report with the status of mitigation of SOD conflicts• Driving business process improvement projects in order to improve process effectiveness & efficiency• Review and implement best practices pertaining to business processes followed within the industries• Coordinating internal/external audits, SOX audits ensuring compliance. Implement remediation plans to mitigate the risks.

• Development of Risk Management Framework to manage Process Risk across business in SAP environment, for manufacturing and FMCG industry.• Performing structured walkthrough of GAR, Fixed assets, Purchase to Pay, Order to cash & stock processes• Review and mapping of processes that impact the financial statements and related disclosures therein• Identifying the controls available to mitigate given risks and pointing design deficiencies therein• Testing of key controls based on statistical sampling method and identifying operating deficiencies
