About Madison Vaughan
Hi! I am a Vehicle Safety Engineer for projects within the Extravehicular Activity and Human Surface Mobility Program (EHP) at NASA Johnson Space Center. I provide safety support to design engineers as they develop, test, and operate hardware for future vehicles used for lunar exploration as part of the Artemis campaign. I also have been providing near real-time support for flight operators and analysis engineers for the thermal control systems onboard the International Space Station.I am a recent graduate of University of Texas at Austin, receiving my BS in Aerospace Engineering. Growing up right next to Johnson Space Center in Houston, I've had a love for space flight and design since I was a kid. I have extensive experience with manufacturing and testing composite structures and was previously the lead structures engineer for UT's Texas Rocket Engineering Lab. I am also interested in applied materials science and engineering, satellite structures, on-orbit servicing, assembly and manufacturing, and orbital debris risk and mitigation.
