Transitioning to the University of Virginia's prestigious economics program, I bring with me a proven track record of assertiveness, adaptability, and problem-solving skills honed during my time as a Founders Scholar at the Kelley School of Business.Assertive and driven, I believe in the importance of taking initiative and leading by example. During the spring semester in 2023, I decided to take initiative in providing affordable tutoring services for Finite Mathematics, a core course in Indiana University’s business program. Capitalizing on the challenges these students faced, I was able to provide more than 150 hours of affordable tutoring through both online and in-person sessions. My goal was clear: to empower students to achieve significant academic progress and surpass course expectations.By breaking down complex concepts into manageable chunks and providing personalized guidance, I enabled students to build confidence in their mathematical abilities. As a result, they not only mastered Finite Math but also exceeded their own academic goals, setting a strong foundation for their future studies at the Kelley School of Business. This experience greatly improved my communication skills along with my adaptability, and has undoubtedly prepared me for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in the business world.
