Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

At KLM Cargo's hub at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol a state-of-the-art sorting and storage system is built to handle both ULDs and belly carts. My master thesis included designing a capacity model for the in-feed and out-feed logistics, designing priority rules and the identification of bottlenecks in the handling process.

The business tour took place in November 2015 and consisted of company visits and other activities in the Netherlands and Germany. Both the tour and the company dinner are aimed at creating connections between our student members and their potential employers.

Study on the impact of the cooling process on the surface quality of Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS). This type of high quality steel is mainly used for the automotive industry. Therefore, it’s surface quality is very important. The study showed how local variations in cooling speed clearly affect the structure on the surface and thus the surface quality of the slab.

Together with three other students I organized a symposium commissioned by Students4Sustainability. My main responsibilities were controlling the finances and attracting sponsors. The Students4Sustainability Symposium took place on November 26th 2013.
