Case Manager for the Honorable Calvin L. Scott, Jr., by handling all of his assigned cases in New Castle County Superior Court. This period of time covers my position as a Judicial Case Manager for the Honorable Judge Calvin L. Scott, Jr. I was required to have the knowledge and ability to carry out the following duties on a daily basis:· Review civil documents to assess the status and determine the procedural requirements· Coordinate the scheduling of events and case activities and provide information on court procedures to the public, judicial officers, attorneys and litigants· Oversee a monthly average of 300 civil lawsuits from case initiation to final disposition· Monitor and coordinate cases through multiple judicial events· Preparation of a wide variety of court and legal documents· Research of case files, records and databases to insure accuracy of data and events and resolve discrepancies· Attendance of court events, hearings, trials and record the results of all activity· Selection of jurors for trial, administration of oaths to witnesses and jurors, mark exhibits during trial and record trial results· Daily issuance of writs for service of documents upon defendants by the appropriate agencies· Responsible for coordinating case activity and events with minimal judicial or administrative intervention· Provide information on court procedures to the public, judicial officers, attorneys and litigants· Assisting public with case docketing and questions
