I'm a serial entrepreneur and product manager with deep experience in AI, product strategy, and finance. Over my career, I have launched 6 products that have over 100m users today (2 with 1B+) and grew 7 technical teams from 0 to 100+. I have raised over $1B in equity and debt over my career and led 30+ closed M&A transactions in 10+ countries. I’m now leading a product incubator for the 4th time in my career. --------I’m a General Partner at Offline Ventures and run Offline’s product incubator. We build cutting edge technology products to improve human life. Prior, I was the VP of Strategy and New Frontiers at Dropbox (leading AI, 3rd party integrations, and new product development). Over 20 years, I have founded 4 venture backed startups; spanning enterprise, social search, education, and autonomous driving. Before Cavnue and AltSchool, I founded Aardvark, acquired by Google in 2010. Prior to starting Aardvark, I had been at Google, working on business operations and strategy. Post acquisition, I led teams responsible for social, personalization, and AI assistance across Google’s products. At Google and Dropbox, I grew a number of large engineering teams from scratch to work on global infrastructure at enormous scale (millions of QPS, billions of users, and hundreds of billions of daily pageviews).Increasingly I'm motivated to tackle hard problems of social import and to build large, thriving teams. I'm a strong proponent of user driven design and highly collaborative culture. Over the last decade, I have invested at the pace of about one early stage company a quarter. Many of the startups I've worked with have sold or matured to later stage profitability (e.g., Forward, Aki, STEM, Wavii, Movity, Lookflow, Black Drumm, Hipster, Livestar, and Evo). I'm on the Board of Liox, and Zendrive. Prior to coming to SF in 2006, I built databases for the World Bank before founding an enterprise software firm. I majored in physics & math at Yale before going directly into the Yale MBA program. Between years of business school, I spent two and a half years working with the CEO of a $2 billion classified media business, raising financing and doing international M&A.Specialties: Startups, Fundraising, M&A, AI, Product Strategy, Mathematics, Algorithms, i16n, Finance, Big Data, Patents (12 utility patents filed)
