Through this two week coding program designed to inspire young girls like me, I discovered the joy and creativity in coding. I graduated Girls Who Code equipped with skills in HTML, CSS and Java Script. Using these programming languages, I created a personal website and an activist toolkit website on the phenomenon of food deserts, for my final project.

Working for UVSO, specifically the Youth Summer Employment Program, I managed the organization's Instagram and Facebook accounts, and their Newsletter, which shares updates about UVSO's community initiatives. My peers and I poured into our community by redesigning and building a community garden. And we learned about the environmental policies impacting our neighborhoods. I am grateful to have had this rewarding experience.
