Hello! I'm Vera Tan, a passionate and dedicated 3rd-year student at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, pursuing a diploma in Arts Business Management. I thrive on challenges and take pride in producing high-quality work. Throughout my studies, I have undertaken various assignments that have allowed me to delve into the planning and execution of festivals, workshops, and diverse programs as well as acting as the stage manager for a small part of the production 'Day I Met The Prince' by Kuo Pao Kun.My journey in stage and events management began when I volunteered as a backstage runner at my ballet school's annual dance showcase in 2019. It was there that I witnessed the meticulous planning and tremendous effort required to execute a successful show, leaving a lasting impression on me.In addition to my interest in stage and events management, I have a strong background in dance. I hold an Advanced Foundation certificate in RAD Ballet, which has provided me with a solid foundation and technical proficiency. I have also had the opportunity to showcase my talents in various dance performances such as Vivace! 2018, FULL OUT! Next Gen, and represented my secondary school in SYF 2019, where I had the privilege of demonstrating my skills and artistry.Recently, I had the privilege of serving as a stage manager for Surge 2023, Renascence, a student-led dance production organized by my CCA, New Revolving Age. Collaborating closely with an experienced stage manager, I gained valuable industry insights. Overseeing three shows, I successfully managed light and sound cues while coordinating curtain movements. Additionally, I took charge of planning and creating schedules for vetting and rehearsals, showcasing my excellent time management, teamwork, adaptability, and sense of responsibility.My diverse experiences in both dance and stage management have shaped my understanding of the performing arts industry and fueled my passion for creating unforgettable experiences. As I continue my journey as a stage and events manager, I am committed to combining my dance background with my management skills to deliver exceptional productions. I am enthusiastic about connecting with professionals in the field and exploring opportunities to collaborate and learn from one another.
