Instructor and Research Scientist with the UNR Physics Department. Conducting basic research in the areas of atomic/molecular structure and photon-ion interactions.

The mission of the Nevada Terawatt Facility (NTF) is to perform basic research in the area of high-energy-density (HED) physics, the study of the behavior of matter subject to conditions of extreme temperature and density.

Twenty-Eight years of service in the U.S. Army as a Commissioned Officer. Assignments include: eleven years in the Airborne and Light Infantry as a Field Artilleryman/Fire Support Officer; six years as an Instructor and Assistant Professor of Physics at the United States Military Academy, including two years as the Director of the USMA Photonics Research Center; six years in various Executive Branch Agencies: two years DTRA (DOD) as the Chief, Test Support Detachment II; two years NNSA (DOE) as Acting Director, Office of Proliferation Detection, Office of Nuclear Nonproliferation Research & Development (NA-221); two years at the CIA; and one year at the Pentagon as a member of the Army Staff. Deployments include Haiti (Operation Uphold Democracy) and Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom).
