As an instructor at Arizona State University, I instruct upper and lower division Service Learning courses within the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College. Theses courses focus on current events and social injustices facing our community and the nation, as well as require students to intern with local non-profit organizations and apply their learning directly to the populations being served. The courses consist of weekly lectures, supplemented with in-class activities, relevant readings, and reflective assignments. Each semester, I am also responsible for doing the following: • Assess student papers, provide feedback, and assign grades.• Monitor and verify student service hours and activities.• Develop and implement course curriculum, assignments, quizzes, and grading rubrics.• Present current events to students and encourage discussion of social issues in the community.• Meet with students to discuss grades, class and service performance, and final projects.• Assist students with academic writing, time management skills, and decision making as necessary.• Collaborate with fellow instructors and department head to improve courses and teaching skills.

As a Manager for the Service Learning and America Reads Programs at Arizona State University, I oversaw multiple after school tutoring programs throughout the Phoenix area. These programs served K-8th grade students from Title 1, who were in need of academic assistance. As Manager, I fulfilled the following duties:• Handled the enrollment of 60-70 children from Kindergarten to 8th grade, and provide consistent communication with schools, teachers, and parents.• Managed 3 tutoring sites with 3 supervisors and 35 tutors and ASU students per day.• Collaborated with department staff in planning and conducting supervisor and tutor trainings.• Developed and conducted tutor trainings on how to interact with children and teach educational concepts.• Created and implemented weekly lessons and assignments, including curriculum congruent with state standards.• Planned and prepared site calendar and events for each semester, including all supplemental training days, fieldtrips and fundraisers.• Conducted weekly site visits to evaluate the performance of supervisors, ensure site is running efficiently, and maintain positive relationships with children, parents and site personnel.• Maintained site budget and payroll each semester.• Assisted in scheduling, interviewing and hiring employee candidates.• Facilitated weekly meetings with site staff, and participated in weekly meetings with other managers and program coordinator.• Exercised conflict management skills in order to maintain a team atmosphere and optimize productivity.• Created and maintained collaborative relationships with community organizations• Solicited donations and found ways to increase funding for program.

As a Quality Assessor for Edgenuity Inc., I review and test online education courses to ensure that appear and operate as intended. The interactive courses are designed for middle and high school students, and cover all subject areas. Working remotely, with the freedom to set my own schedule and with minimal supervision, I complete the following duties: • Assess online education courses in their final stage of production for technical bugs before the courses go live.• Examine courses, paying close attention to content in order to assure accuracy. • Track and report all bugs using FogBugz software.• Self-track progress of assigned lessons using Google 3000 Series Matrix.• Participate in and contribute to periodic meetings conducted online.
