Veronica, a high school student at Mother McAuley, is a dynamic individual deeply involved in various academic and community initiatives. As a member of Lurie’s Teen Doc Program, she actively promotes health awareness among teenagers. Veronica is also part of the DOC program, gaining valuable insights into the medical field, and contributes to cutting-edge research at the University of Chicago.Beyond high school, Veronica engages in the University of Illinois in Chicago Medicina Apprenticeship Program for Medicine, showcasing her dedication to a well-rounded medical education. She is an active ComEd Scholar, demonstrating a commitment to academic pursuits. Additionally, Veronica participates in the CHESS program at the University of Illinois in Chicago, where she conducts cancer research throughout the summer, furthering her practical experience and knowledge in the medical field.Veronica is also a participant in the Advice Beyond the Classroom program at her school, where she honed her networking skills and learned to make valuable connections with professionals in her areas of interest. Furthermore, as part of the Chicago Scholars program, she receives mentorship and guidance, which helps lift her toward her career goals.In the community, Veronica generously volunteers at her local church, addressing health inequities and contributing to community well-being. She also supports the Propionic Acidemia Foundation, contributing to the advancement of medical research and awareness.
