My current position provides a leadership role to ensuring new or upcoming changes of Regulatory requirements are assessed and implemented within RBC Insurance. I work closely with the business to ensure understanding and adherence to regulatory requirement changes. I play a key part as the liaison between the business units, Legal and Compliance in order to minimize RBC’s exposure to legal, financial and regulatory risk. I have the pleasure of working with multiple stakeholders, of various levels across the organization, to confirm operational processes reflect current policy and regulatory requirements established by RBC Insurance as well as Provincial and Federal regulatory bodies that govern the sale and service of Insurance products.

7 month Secondment role in Insurance Compliance for learning and development to gain knowledge and insight on Insurance Regulatory requirements. Areas included Market conduct case management and investigations, business unit support for Creditor, Travel and H&A lines of business. I gained insight of the regulatory environment, learned new processes and made positive contributions towards Compliance initiatives. This was a great introduction to the Compliance world as I transitioned to my permanent role as Manager, Policy and Regulatory Management.
