As part of the Community Resources team, I provide oversight and manage the Regional Programs and Program Officers serving communities in 8 regions (MENA,SSA, South Asia, ESEAP, LATAM and The Caribbean, North America, Northern and Western Europe, CEE and Central Asia); with funding and other resource opportunities , ensuring that the free knowledge on Wikipedia and its sister projects is available and accessible to anyone worldwide.

At the Wikimedia Foundation Employee Resource Groups serve as spaces where staff can connect, learn, and grow with those who share facets of identity. These groups are essential to the Foundation’s vision of an equitable workplace.As a co- leader of the African Employee Resource group our aims were to unify and empower African staff at the Wikimedia Foundation, working collectively to strengthen the landscape of participation in the creation, consumption and celebration of African knowledge across the movement.

Managing and implementing funding programs which support the communities around the world with different individual and mission-allied organizational funding opportunities and other resources to ensure that the free knowledge on Wikipedia and its sister projects is always available and accessible to anyone with an internet connection.The programs are run through a participatory and trust-based grant-making approach working together with participatory grant committee members, grant applicants and grantees, and members of the Community Resources team.

Akirachix builds great female tech talent for Africa and the rest of the World by providing hands-on technical training and mentorship to young women and girls,to increase the number of skilled women in tech and positively impact the community.The vision: Empowering generations of women to be creators, drivers, leaders, and decision-makers in the IT Industry.

I have deep experience working with adolescent girls and young women in East Africa and believe in creating spaces for them to develop and to use their power in changing and building communities positively. I served as the Africa Regional Coordinator for four years with Creative Action Institute, during which time I helped grow the East African Girls' Leadership Summit and Mentor Program and designed the organization's COVID-responsive Sauti ya Dada programming. I continue to collaborate with Creative Action Institute as a consultant for its work in East Africa.In collaboration with Creative Action Institute, we build the capacity of emerging and seasoned leaders to think creatively, reframe challenges, ask generative questions, creatively facilitate dialogue and inspire change at the individual, community and systemic levels. Additionally, we build the capacity of teachers, administrators, and other educators to engage all learners with a focus on strategies from gender-responsive pedagogy, to human rights, and multiple intelligences amongst other topic areas.

I led Creative Action Institute’s work across Africa to design, develop, implement, manage and support impact assessment of projects focused on gender equality, gender transformative education, and the intersection of climate change and gender equality. The projects entailed training and developing customised consulting services { custom designed training and curriculum development, professional development for educators and design and facilitate conferences} ,for varied stakeholders which are done in partnership with development agencies and donor foundations.
