CurrentCasey Trees is a Washington, DC based nonprofit, committed to restoring, enhancing and protecting the tree canopy of the nation’s capital. To fulfill this mission, we plant trees, engage thousands of volunteers of all ages in tree planting and care, provide year-round continuing education courses, monitor the city’s tree canopy, develop interactive online tree tools and work with elected officials, developers, and community groups to protect and care for existing trees and to encourage the addition of new ones.Manage the Human Resources Department and is responsible for the compliance of all HR procedures and policies from a Company, federal, and local compliance standpoint. Provide day to day HR oversight and support. • Maintains overall awareness and remains current on changing regulations on laws including, but not limited to EEO, FLSA, Title VI/Civil Rights Act, Worker’s Compensation, FMLA, and ADA • Direct, manage, and participate in the recruitment process ensuring that the company secures the best talent available. • Manage on-boarding process and ensure that all new hires go through a smooth orientation. • Handle payroll processing • Ensure the accurate preparation and processing of a variety of human resources documents and ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, rules, and requirements. • Communicate health, life insurance, and 403(b) retirement benefits to eligible employees. Coordinate and conduct annual open enrollment process for all eligible staff. • Administer FMLA and all leave of absences according to the applicable state and federal laws and regulations.• Enforce company standards and policies through written material, training, and consistent administration. • Prepares ad-hoc reports including labor trends, employee turnover data, required censuses, recruitment progress, and employee evaluations
