• Organic synthesis. Synthesized various ali- and heterocycles with diverse substitution patterns. Carried out various transition metal-catalyzed cationic cyclizations. Mastered various types of cross-coupling reactions on heavily substituted and sterically demanding substrates. Delivered ca. 250 biological screening candidates in all the projects combined.• Medicinal chemistry. Successfully implemented fragment-optimization and growing in the absence of structural data discovering a highly potent and ligand-efficient class of antitubercular compounds. - to be published soon Established qualitative SAR within the scaffold of the hit discovered by virtual screening. Optimized antibacterial and cytotoxic profile of the aforementioned lead compound making it highly active against ESKAPE pathogens, non-toxic against panel of mammalian cells and efficient in Zebrafish infection model (45 candidates in total). Obtained working knowledge and extensive hands-on experience in SPR, MST, ligand-observed NMR; screened ca. 50 fragment candidates by STD-NMR against the target protein. Studied and predicted protein-ligand interactions for candidates by molecular modeling (MOE, SeeSAR). Learned and applied the basics of Ligand-based Virtual Screening (KNIME) for advancing the antiviral lead with unknown target.• Organizational. Maintained and coordinated collaboration with 2 different partnering groups located in Germany. (Indirectly) interacted with a DMPK screening CRO abroad
