Student Support Professional
CurrentAs a Student Support Professional at Roanoke Minnick School, I work collaboratively with principal, counselling staff, and instructional staff to build positive behavioral programs for students in K-12. I am responsible for leading weekly small group sessions in which I teach students coping, social and mindfulness skills. I complete individual sessions with students and respond to students in crisis. I review and collect student data which provides a greater insight of student needs and areas of difficulty/improvement. I attend IEP and FAPT meetings for students which allows me to assist with implementing and providing behavior modification/management based on my relationship to students and graphing data collected. I am dedicated to improving the well-being of at-risk youth, building effective working relationships with youth, their families and interdisciplinary staff to ensure needs are met and improvements are made in youths lives.
