The ‘Z Infrastructure & OS Support Team’ sits within California’s primary production datacenter and disaster recovery site. It maintains the core operating systems and products on IBM zSystems Mainframes.My responsibilities and skill sets include:-Plan, manage, coordinate, install, and maintain department wide proprietary zSystems and client/server software products-Identify and diagnose malfunctions of software that may include recovery/restoration of the data, system software and/or hardware to ensure the software performs to the system specifications-Manage ServiceNow Requests through Change Control Meetings, building ServiceNow Request templates for dashboard reporting-Project lead for (E)JES application product - Plan and maintain system architecture (implementation , testing, licensing)-Project Lead for Mainframe z15 CPU Upgrade - Extensive ‘Project Task Plan’ that covers tightly choreographed waterfall step plan over a 72 hour upgrade window. Task assignments are spread across all Mainframe disciplines (OS, Product, Network applications, Adabas, DB2, Middleware Apps), coordination with IBM, and customer validation teams. Task delegation and refinement within my team. During execution, responsible for task check off, managing flow of tasks, and releasing staff. Open Change Control Requests, Service Desk Bulletins.
