Speech Pathologist
CurrentVicki joins VHSP as a fully qualified Speech Pathologist in early 2024. Her main duties include:-Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct evaluations to identify speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders.-Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results. This can include setting goals, creating therapy strategies, and determining appropriate interventions.-Therapy and Intervention: Provide therapy to individuals with communication or swallowing difficulties. This could involve exercises to improve articulation, language development, fluency, or cognitive-communication skills, as well as strategies to manage swallowing difficulties.-Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors, occupational therapists, and psychologists, to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.-Education and Training: Educate patients, families, and caregivers about communication and swallowing disorders and how to manage them.-Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes. This includes writing reports for other professionals or agencies involved in the patient’s care.
