My Work History:I’ve lived and worked in San Diego for the past 37 years, with the exception of a few years spent in Oregon in the ‘80’s and early ‘90’s. My work history is quite diverse. I’ve worked for several different types of businesses, mostly as the Corporate Controller, twice as a Corporate Cash Manager. I‘ve always enjoyed my work and have felt privileged to work for some fine companies and have met and worked with some amazing individuals, all while learning much in my field.Following are some of the companies I’ve worked for:• a well-known hotel • a commodity broker firm• an auto dealership• a vehicle leasing company• a sock manufacturer• a travel event planning business• a real estate broker• and I am currently with a mortgage originator and lending company.I’ve been involved with both financial accounting and managerial accounting, and have helped design cash management tools, control measures, standard operating procedures, budget preparation and performance evaluations. Along the way, I have been through a multitude of company audits, and worked with many tax accountants and CPA firms through the auditing process. Through my journey, I have learned so much from all the talented and knowledgeable individuals I have come to know and admire.My Work Style:I would say my work style has evolved over time. I see myself as a teacher/trainer, but also as a student of all knowledge in the field of work I am in. I also believe in a focused effort in the tasks at hand, and proper planning for future tasks & projects. But work usually is a team effort, so I also feel best with a team who is talented, and can work well with the others on the team. I believe in building good strong relationships within the team, and other co-workers as well. Personally, I am very easy to “get along with,” and if everyone works together, and within their individual strengths, we can be a driving force within the company.
