Following a difficult first year of corrections, system implementations and Excel modelling: inclusive of a comprehensive financial reporting package, budget model, reforecast model and a year-end reporting model, Auckland Badminton for the first time had a clean audit (financial year-end 30 Sep15).

The report that was subsequently provided to the CE of NZMC stated that the financial systems (including reporting) were the most robust within the MCH (the MCH have many agencies they fund). The financial systems audited at the request of the MCH in 2007 are the systems I developed and implemented in 2003.• No audit adjustments required from 2004 through to the latest financial year audited (2015).

Responsibilities:• Financial Reporting (NZ, Australia, Consolidated)• Annual Budgets / Forecasting• IRD & ATO (Australian Tax Office) Returns• Cash Flow Management• Inventory Control• Financial Reporting for the Dagger Family Trust• Manage Finance Assistant• FX Management Achievements:• Re-Designed and Implemented Chart of Accounts – inclusive of cost centre accounting. • Re-Designed and Implemented improved financial reporting package – including robust variance analysis reporting• Created robust and flexible budgeting and forecasting Excel Models• In Aug13, the IRD advised that they would be performing a Risk Review Audit. I was required to re-construct and reconcile 3 years of GST Returns (2009 to 2011). Given the complexities involved, such as the Australian 10% GST and the New Zealand 15% GST not recorded separately in the General Ledger, the GST re-constructions and reconciliations were complex and time consuming. On completion of this task, the IRD advised that they would not be proceeding to a full audit. I was advised by the UHY Haines Norton Chartered Accountants that a primary contributor to the IRD’s decision to not proceed to a full audit was the quantitative work the IRD received from me.
