Vickie Schray has over 25 years of experience in public policy development, implementation and government relations. She has strategically brought together stakeholders, designed initiatives and led major national reforms to improve the quality, access, and affordability of higher education. These efforts required oversight and coordination of programs and services across secondary and postsecondary education, and workforce and economic development. She led the identification of 16 industry sectors and worked with state and national education and industry leaders to create career pathway models for the development of curriculum and industry certifications for use in secondary and postsecondary education. Most recently, she was EVP and Chief External Affairs Officer, at Zovio (formerly Bridgepoint Education) and was responsible for developing and implementing strategies to position the company as a trusted leader and manage external relationships and communication with a diverse set of stakeholders. She oversaw Corporate Communications, Investor Relations, Corporate Social Responsibility, Regulatory and Government Affairs and Public Policy.Vickie has also served in a variety of leadership positions at the US Department of Education including Deputy Director for the Secretary of Education’s Commission on the Future of Higher Education, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Office of Postsecondary Education and was delegated the authority to serve as the Under Secretary of Education and Assistant Secretary for Postsecondary Education.Vickie earned her BS in Marketing Education at Oregon State University, her MS at Portland State University, completed her Key Executive Leadership program at American University, is certified by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management as a member of the Career Senior Executive Service and is a Certified Professional Business Coach.
