This is project based company but needs an agile approach as deals with sales, design, full onsite manufacture and nationwide installation of children's playgrounds. Spread over two sites, I have worked with the directors to bring a more cohesive way of working for both staff and CX. I'm responsible for all aspects of the finance department but largely working with managers of different departments to help them understand their profitability and report on their KPIS. I produce monthly management accounts detailing variance against budgets for the company overall but also per department and per project.The projects can vary in value and can be either a local authority tender or from a private school. Both require complex reporting and planning in terms of cashflows, stock management and capacity. There are also outside influences to consider due to seasonal trends.I've introduced varying policies and procedures allowing for the tightening of financial control.There is lots of opportunity to continue with the processes I have put in place, allowing the company to to grow and flourish. It is my goal to ensure the financial processes, systems, and controls are operating effectively and driving continuous improvement.Lastly, I submit quarterly VAT returns. The payroll is to be brought in house from April 2020.

I was the proud owner of an accounting business which offered a range of financial services to small and medium sized enterprises. We specialised in Xero and were the leaders in our area for recommending other technologies in an 'app stack' to enable businesses to grow and work more efficiently. We provided a bespoke, cost effective service focussed on saving our clients time and fought hard to become a paperless office. Numerical was "Highly Commended" at the 1066 Business Awards in 2015 for outstanding customer service and was fully licensed and regulated by the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).I sold Numerical in 2019. This was not an easy decision but something I had to do. Running a business is hard and although I grew both professionally and personally, I wanted a change and to apply what I learnt to one business as opposed to my ever growing client base.

Myself and my Co directors grew the company to the most profitable years it had ever had. We pushed on reviewing budgets per project and exploring variances, constantly looking to work more efficiently on the next project.Amadeus Performance Equipment Ltd (APEL) provided furniture and equipment for orchestras, schools and performance venues. This involved more stock management monitoring lead times, resources and limiting factors such as capacity planning or seasonal variances. Again, during the time I was Finance Director, APEL had its most profitable years.

Payroll lead on Iris producing wage slips, reconciling and submitting P35 and working in accordance with CIS. Submitting monthly returns and generating subcontractor statements.Producing daily reports using Excel and SAGE on sales, purchase and general ledger.
