As the firm's Business Continuity Manager, I am responsible for the UK, Ireland, and Middle East business continuity (BC) processes, procedures, decisions and activities to ensure that the firm can continue to function through an operational interruption.I:-Maintain BC Plans (BCP) tailored to the firm's specific needs and operational environment, regularly reviewing/updating to incorporate best practices and address emerging threats/risks-Conduct risk assessments, identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities through business impact scenarios-Maintain our Business Impact Analysis (BIAs) which involves collaborating with key stakeholders and department heads while understanding the financial, operational and reputational consequences of disruptions-Develop and deliver an exercise program, testing BCPs, BIAs and BC documentation, to ensure they are fit for purpose, accurate, and effective. -Have compiled a BC engagement and training programme, to ensure those with BC roles/responsibilities have the required competencies to do so-Conduct post-incident/post-exercise reviews, making recommendations for future improvement-Lead the region on all things BC during both BAU and in times of crisis, providing expert guidance and support -Work with the procurement team to assess the BCPs of critical third party vendors and suppliers to mitigate associated risks-Ensure the firm's practices align with all BC applicable compliance requirements and keep up to date with new legislation in relation to BC and disaster recovery-Maintain a thorough and detailed knowledge of BC working practices and keep up to date with latest thinking-Liaise with professional bodies and local authorities to maintain awareness and to foster good relationships-Assist the Business Development team with BC elements of bids for new business and respond to client enquires about Dentons BC Capabilities-Maintain, review, and update our ISO22301 compliant management system

Governance & Assurance Lead within MoJ's Corporate Business Continuity & Resilience Team.As Governance and Assurance Lead within MoJ in relation to business continuity (BC) working as part of the Corporate Business Continuity & Resilience Team (CBC&RT), my responsibility is to provide leadership and support across all business areas. Delivering a robust approach to BC management, ensuring alignment to both the strategic direction of the department, and alignment to ISO22301. Being aware of departmental governance processes and structures lie at the core of my role. I lead work on,• Maintaining communications with the MoJ BC network of competent BC practitioners across the department to scrutinize compliance, including challenging assumptions • Lead on the development/delivery of exercises, all of which are contained within my Exercise Programme • Take the lead on reviewing and updating all CBC&RT documents, including, BC Policy. Taking responsibility for managing changes, ensuring gaining top management sign off and sharing new versions correctly• Provide secretariat support to the Business Continuity Practitioners Forum, creating agendas, following up actions, writing minutes and organising invites etc.• Liaising with internal MoJ teams to gain understanding of our interdependencies, i.e., Corporate Risk & Assurance Team, Health & Safety, Security, Corporate Governance etc. • I work as part of a 24/7 rota, as the on-call duty officer for BC across MoJ. Should any BC incident occur during working hours and/or out-of-hours, I respond and deal with it accordingly and professionally • During times of response, I form part of MoJ's Departmental Operations Centre (DOC), undertaking roles within the Situational Awareness & Information team (SAIT) using my knowledge and expertise

Resilience AdvisorAs Resilience Adviser (RA) working for the Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) as part of the Resilience and Emergencies Division (RED), I supported Local Resilience Forums (LRFs), in order to assist them in their planning for, responding to and recovery from emergencies/crisis. LRFs are multi-agency partnerships, which include representatives from Blue Light Services, Local Authorities, NHS, utility companies, military, to name a few. Looking collectively at impacts/risks that could potentially impact local areas, planning and responding to both declared emergencies and catastrophic emergencies. As the representative of government, I worked alongside and supported partners to identify all potential risks, produce emergency plans, exercise/test plans and processes, and respond locally to emergency situations that require government involvement. My responsibilities included;• Enable resilient localities and ensure preparedness for high impact/widespread emergencies• Demonstrate consistent good practise in preparing, participating, and taking actions following LRF meetings• Holding challenging conversations with senior strategic key stakeholders, remaining professional throughout by showing appropriate behaviours and skills required to build/maintain my good strong stakeholder relations• Be the focal contact point of central government at all times including delivering strategic government updates• In an emergency situation either be placed within the MHCLGs DOC or be deployed as Government Liaison Officer (GLO) to where LRF gather for Strategic Co-ordination Group Meetings SCG).
