I set up this business in January 2022 as an outlet for my creative and crafty persona. What started out as a few personalised pyjamas and mugs made from my spare room, has now turned into a successful business which I run part time in my spare time. I successfully manage projects from order to end of warranty, primarily for the Oil & Gas division of GE, but also periodically work with others. I've managed projects from £250k to in excess of £2million, including A183 machines with baseplates and gearboxes. In recognition of my drive and enthusiasm, I led the Freeport project which saw the build of 10 of the largest stators ever built in RMR and which was showcased to MEPs during factory tours and featured in a video shown in the House of Commons.Daily communication with customers is key to my role, alongside being able to quote & negotiate change orders when required and collaborate with all departments to conduct project reviews and status updates. I support customers during inspection and factory test programmes and have weekly meetings to ensure clear communication to all parties. I report to the finance teams on budget targets for engineering hours, production hours, material cost and also cost out. My role requires me to support the planning team in producing achievable and on-time programmes which drive targeted delivery dates of parts and materials. I am heavily involved in supporting the manufacturing process to achieve safety, quality and on-time delivery of the final product, and have previously seconded myself to the factory to assist with the physical build of the machine. I've conducted machine quality inspections to ensure that the build is as per customer requirements and specifications, and have the ability to motivate employees to maintain customer focus and dedication. I supported off-site Project Managers in the execution and fulfilment of customer orders by dealing with internal teams and manufacture of the machines. I communicated daily with planning to ensure that the project was running as per customer expectations, and that engineering deliverables were realistic but as per the contract. Being pro-active was a key skill in order to resolve any problems that arose during the project by co-ordinating regular updates within the team and communicating to management on a daily basis. I heavily supported the factory during the manufacturing phase and implemented a daily rhythm with all employees involved in the build to allow for the communication of progress, issue resolution and quality assurance. I also fed back ideas, achievements and suggestions from staff at all levels, to a global corporate level.I was also leader of the Volunteers Committee for 4 years and led a group of over 15 people to help encourage volunteering in the local community across the site. I created new projects and worked with the local community to ensure help with some of their needs.
