Senior Communications Officer, which involves internal and external communication to 360+ staff across two councils. Deputising for the head of service, planning consultations and campaigns, marketing strategies and ensuring council documents are written in plain English. Working alongside 64 Councillors between the two councils and keeping up-to-date with internal/external communications. Externally, liaising with a range of stakeholders including written press and broadcast media outlets including the BBC, ITV, local Radio, as well as national press and publications. Sharing council news via press releases, statements and social media channels of communication. Promoting our councils, and supporting the economic wellbeing of the district and borough, through marketing campaigns. Using both digital and video content filmed edited and promoted in-house to get the best possible engagement across a range of platforms. Streaming council committees live via Restream using OBS to YouTube and social media channels. Informing parishes and town councils about events and news that will interest them across the Borough/District using Granicus e-bulletins. Engaging in consultations and elections with the public and media to share information as it happens. Chair of the Staff Forum to ensure a two-way dialogue between management and staff and ensure positive staff wellbeing.Assistant Census Officer for the 2021 Census data collection.Emergency communications including throughout the Covid pandemic. Working with partners including the LRF, Cabinet Office, UKHSA, NHS and in close contact with Team Devon including County, unitary councils and other local districts to create engaging, informative and timely communications to support and inform our residents.
