Ziweto Enterprises Limited (http://www.ziweto.com/) is a leading distributor of quality and affordable veterinary products to smallholder livestock farmers in Malawi. Ziweto is a Malawian name for livestock, our mission is to "raise the value of livestock for better human lives. Our vision is to revolutionize the way that veterinary services, livestock extension and markets are offered to smallholder farmers by creating a more entrepreneurial and sustainable model of livestock services delivery. We operate a network of micro-franchised, branded agrovet shops (Ziweto Agrovet Shops, 21 outlets across Malawi at the moment) owned and operated by young people who are qualified as veterinarians, livestock technicians and other livestock and agricultural professionals. We have distribution partnerships with global veterinary brands including Kepro, Holland https://www.kepro.nl/; Interchemie, Holland and Hester BioSciences from India. We are also operating a feed mill and poultry breeding center in Lilongwe. TechnoServe provides solutions for poverty by harnessing the power of the private sector. I lead the Country Office, offering strategic direction, problem-solving, and fostering alliances to enhance TechnoServe's impact. Responsibilities include managing budgets, ensuring compliance, representing the organization to external stakeholders for increased visibility, coaching team members for excellence, and overseeing program implementation at the country level with a focus on achieving objectives.Key Achievements:• I supervise Food Processing Specialist and Business Advisors to support 41 small and medium enterprises involved in food processing under the USAID-funded Alliance for Inclusive and Nutritious Food Processing (AINFP)• I manage identification and capacity building of 35 conservation enterprises under the USAID funded Restoring Fisheries for Sustainable Livelihoods (REFRESH).

Practical Action is an international development organization putting ingenious ideas to work so people in poverty can change their world. Practical Action's work in Malawi focused on implementing clean, sustainable and productive energy solutions for the millions of people who don’t have access to the national grid. I managed the setting of the Practical Action office in Malawi, staff recruitment and supervision, and securing new business for the country office. Key Achievements• New Business Development – raised funds from UNDP ($1.2m); USAID ($170k); Energy & Environment Africa ($550k); Innocent Foundation ($250k) and; Others ($400k). • Projects managed included: Support to Mulanje Energy Generation Authority (MEGA); Feasibility study and design for the establishment of Usingini Mini-hydro power station, funded by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Government of Malawi; Liquified Petroleum Gas market research in Malawi, USAID PERFORM activity; Farmer managed seed systems, Innocent Foundation

As Chief of Party, I provided strategic vision, management and direction to the USAID/OFDA-funded Malawi Livestock for Resilience (L4R) project. The project strengthened the livestock productive capacity and livelihood asset base of 6,000 vulnerable households (30,000 individuals) in Dowa and Ntchisi Districts of Central Malawi. Specifically, I led and was responsible for: i. Successful implementation of the project and achievement of results on time and within budget ii. Effective management of project workload including financial, planning, administrative compliance and reporting, motoring and evaluation iii. Supervision, mentoring and development of local staff and consultants or managers capable of continuing Land O’ Lakes work over the long term iv. Represent the organization to donors, host government, community groups v. New business development through negotiation, design, and development of new projects and project extensions

I led on the planning, coordination, securing and management of restricted and unrestricted income to enable Oxfam in Malawi to deliver on the country program strategy. The purpose of the role included: raising funds for Oxfam's program in Malawi; developing and maintaining good quality and consistent relationships with donors; leading on contract management and; effectively supporting and working with program teams in the development of concept papers and proposals in accordance with country strategy and donor requirements. I was also a member of the Oxfam Malawi Management Team.

As Deputy Country Director, I worked with the Country Director to provide overall leadership and direction for the Country Program Office, anchored by the Heifer International strategic plan and footprint for impact. I participated in supervision of senior staff and oversee the management of country office human and financial resources and, implementation of planned country office projects. I led in establishing and maintaining relationships with the host government, other non-governmental organisations and representatives of bilateral and multilateral donors. I led the country office in development of new projects and programs, monitoring and evaluation and knowledge management.

Served as the interim country director for Heifer International in Malawi.

As Programme Development Manager for Heifer International Malawi I led in establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships with government agencies, donors and other non-governmental organisations in Malawi. I worked with other staff to design high quality & large scale projects and contributed in raising the portfolio of Heifer in Malawi from one to five projects. I coordinated project planning, monitoring, evaluations, lesson learning and reporting.

CISANET works to promote agricultural development and sustainable livelihoods for the poor by influencing desired change in policies, practices and attitudes of Government, Donors, Civil Society and Private Sector through effective advocacy and networking.
