As a culture desk intern I write and research news stories in the art and music spheres of Denver.

I lead 15 classes of over 10 students through a six week program designed to build or advance their reading skills.

I lead two three hour classes each day with groups of around 10 kids, ranging in age from 5-16, helping them learn to Kayak and stand up paddle board on Mendums pond. I worked with my fellow instructors to keep the facility of UNH sailing camp running smoothly, repairing boats, tables, decks, and up-keeping the grounds around the facility. I built relationships with the parents of my campers ensuring that all was going well and updating them on any important things in class or other events for their child involving sailing or paddling at camp.

I worked the front desk during school hours, helping students find and use resources in the library, filling requests for books from other libraries for members of the faculty and checking in anything being returned. During school breaks I helped with the organization of the library as a whole, moving sections form one floor to another to prepare for incoming books, and accounting for books that had gone missing. I helped on a project from a large organization of libraries that was recording what libraries had specific books by going through and accounting for those that the organization wanted Phillips Exeter to continue holding.

I kept track of rooms throughout the entire hotel, informing my fellow housekeepers of which needed to be cleaned, which were still full, and which ones only required a midday cleaning. I negotiated with my co-workers on who would clean which room as well as who would work in the public areas or stay on laundry duty. With guests I helped foster a comfortable environment for the Inn as a whole, checking in to see what time they would prefer we work on their rooms, advice for the restaurants downtown or any other way I could help them enjoy their stay.
