As a senior at Baylor University, I am deeply engaged in Child Family Studies with a specialization in Child Life. With over 7 years of childcare experience and a passion for attentive and insightful guidance in child and family support, I have become skilled in observation, patience, and empathy, and am currently approaching my second year of working at the NAEYC accredited Piper Center of Family Studies and Child Development.To me, working with children and families isn't just a profession; it's my calling. I'm captivated by trauma-informed education's impact on young minds, and I am an advocate for equitable healthcare and mental health support for every child. Following my graduation in May 2025, I will pursue my MSW and aim to start my career as a trauma informed therapist for children and families. Throughout my masters program, I hope to become a CCLS as well - uniting my passions for childcare, trauma-informed education, and healthcare equity.Moreover, as someone diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 4, I'm committed to supporting families facing similar challenges, with a special interest in alleviating the family stress and trauma that comes from early childhood chronic illness diagnoses. I believe in the practice of Conscious Discipline and creating playful, growth-focused environments to help children and families develop emotional resilience, self-regulation skills, and adaptive coping mechanisms.While I seek connections with individuals and organizations sharing this vision, I'm eager to discuss trauma-informed counseling/education and child life.
