• During this placement I have been opened up to the different forms of teaching within the community dance sector. Working with disadvantaged youths provided new challenges each day and within my role I am continually assisting the dance teaching team to keep the project members engaged and enthusiastic about what they were doing. Throughout the day my role changes from; being involved in the dance activity whilst executing my own enthusiasm and energy, in order to encourage and support the young people in their learning through quiet demonstration and explanation. To leading small groups or individuals in rehearsal and observing behavior with the responsibility to report any concerns back to a senior member of staff. My role is also to help the young people work within a code of conduct and challenge any minor inappropriate behaviors, to ensure the dance class ran as smoothly as possible.

I gained a range of experiences within different year groups which was a combination of KS3 to 5, as well as various subject areas including; Media, Drama, Music, P.E and Dance. During a year 9 Btec Dance class I was able to lead a high intensity warm up relating to the theme of the lesson without any prior planning. I also observed a year 11 Dance mock exam and gave feedback using the mark scheme; therefore I have experience of how this works and the grading boundaries.

• Within this job role I have gained a number of new and different experiences, for example; I have learned how to handle customer concerns and complaints empathetically, I also possess knowledge into the running of this worldwide company and its health and safety procedures. Whenever I am at work I consistently provide excellent customer service and due to the fact I am undergoing the training to become a crew trainer I constantly ensure I retain great leadership skills and maintain a good role model attitude. Since I've worked in the same company part time for around four years I feel very confident in my role which is mainly to operate the drive-thru window and sales register quickly and efficiently.
