I'm a Librarian who is ready for a career change. I've spent 15 years serving the public and it has been incredibly rewarding. However, I'm ready to try working in the private sector with a less chaotic schedule. I'm very passionate about helping people, especially where instruction and facilitation are concerned. I grew up as a kinesthetic learner, so I understand how engaging a class or course needs to be, especially when working remotely. I develop events and programs for teens who've been sitting in classrooms all day, which means I know how to engage a difficult audience, I'm not afraid of a challenge, and I know how to make learning fun. My working style is one of flexible structure, empathy, accessibility, and collaboration. I'm interested in working for an organization that values the well-being of its employees, enables me to help people, and provides structural and procedural support from and for every department. I'll even help create that support, if you'll have me. I have not met a single adult who isn't going through mental health struggles right now. I believe that everyone deserves an employer that understands how work can and does affect mental health and everyday stressors. That doesn't mean a company-provided therapist for everyone or renting out an arcade. It means what your employees need it to mean and sometimes that's as simple as turning down the lights, providing cheap fidget toys, and/or being transparent with your reports. Or sometimes it's as complex as a training from the Chicago Freedom School. Everyone deserves a safe workplace.
