About Víctor Rico Reche

My experiences living in China and South Korea showed me the world that is coming. Living in Latin America, the dangers of populism and the challenges of inequality. Working on Central and West Africa, the impact of climate change and the consequences of anti-Western narratives. The world is changing, and it is in our hands to decide if we play a role in it or pay the consequences.Do we want a society where political freedom, economic prosperity, and social cohesion are still protected? Do we want a society where the influence of ever-growing Big Tech and ever-growing authoritarian regimes is limited by rules? Do we want a world with multilateralism, solidarity, and human rights at its core? Then we need more Europe.This is the reason why I am devoted to helping write the story that Europeans want, building our own narrative, and having a voice in a shared future. This is why I proudly work for the European Commission.Political communication, storytelling, and EU-China relations are some of my passions. Big-picture thinking, a constructive approach, and ethic and responsibility-driven behaviour some of my skills.
