I had a typical start to my career – an engineer trainee in a captive IT dept. of a copper smelting plant of Aditya Birla Group. A strong foundation was laid in that modest environment working together with varied cadres, from shopfloor supervisors to department heads, learning and realizing the value technology provides to the last mile. In due course, I graduated to the Aditya Birla Corporate IT group engaging with C-Suite executives of various group companies. Over the years, I moved from one company to another - start-ups to mid-sized to large corporates. Gradually I evolved myself and acquiring the tradecraft of delivery management, customer portfolio development, transformations through technology, processes & governance, building multi-skilled teams, and the likes. All the experiences over my 25+ yrs of professional career taught me a few things though – -- talent & technology : these deliver to full potential only when the first one is developed, and the other one is put into application.-- processes & governance : buzz words; they look good in corporate presentations, unless driven by their core values and adopted in true sense with diligence.-- business & balance-sheet : the bottom line – no one can dare forget.Few things to know about me – -- I like to challenge status-quo, always exploring ways to improve. If you are averse to change, I am not your guy.-- people often quote Voltaire, who said, “don’t make perfect the enemy of good”. But that’s how focus is lost on excellence. I strive to be excellent in whatever I embark upon, driving towards perfection whenever the circumstances can afford.-- relevance and purpose is what I look for. Count me out for mundane work and endeavors which are not defined with objectives and goals.-- I like to work with clear vision and strategy.
