Responsible for overseeing the organization and day-to-day operation of the purchasing department including hiring, training and scheduling priorities, continued responsibility for researching and evaluating suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history; preparing purchase orders; soliciting bid proposal and reviewing requisitions for goods and services; evaluating and monitoring contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine need for changes.

Manage accounts receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate handling of past due/delinquent accounts; coordinate collection efforts and contact appropriate personnel for collection assistance, research and resolve payment discrepancies; prepare daily manual deposits, process credit card payments and make adjustments to accounts as needed; post and apply customer payments against invoices in the A/R systems, e.g., QuickBooks; and process and submit all vendor invoices in QuickBooks and follow up with the Accounting Department regarding payment status.

Research, evaluate and select suppliers; prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals and review requisitions for goods and services; monitor and trace shipments to ensure on-time delivery; negotiate contracts, evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, and renegotiating contracts as needed; and monitor inventory of all laboratory and office supplies.

Review sponsors’ clinical study protocols to determine the type of kits and supplies needed for their studies; assemble customized clinical kits, design labels, and create shipping and handling instruction manuals; work directly with domestic and international couriers to obtain any necessary permits and correspond with them to ensure on-time, smooth delivery; and communicate with clinical sites throughout the study to answer any questions that may arise during collection and/or shipping, and to process re-order requests.
