Customer: Harman International, https://www.harman.comProject: NDS Compiler – a map compiler for built-in car navigation systems used by BMW, Daimler (Mercedes-Benz, Maybach), VW group (Volkswagen, Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini), Honda, Toyota (Lexus), Hyundai, MAN-Scania.Tasks performed:- Acted as an NDS Compiler Engineer that is mainly responsible for destination input features (address/POI input, Full Text Search engine, Address Segmented Prefix Tree input, Categorical location input)- Implemented city/road ranking strategies of the Full Text Search (FTS) engine for the next gen Harman cloud navigation system.- Integrated several third party POI providers into the next gen Harman cloud navigation system.- Implemented stop words feature of the FTS engine for the current gen navigation systems (Daimler model year 2020+).- Reduced complete map size by 3-10% by applying special optimization when FTS content contains less data than actual FTS index.- Designed and implemented city and crossroad location input refinement algorithm for Categorical Location Input feature (Daimler and BMW model year 2018+).- Reduced compilation time from 2 days to 10 minutes of the part of the Address Segmented Prefix Tree compilation stage related to house numbers (Toyota and BMW model year 2013+).Environment: Java 6-11 (Maven, Ant, JUnit, DBUnit, commons-lang, Guava, OSGi, Spring), PostgreSQL (PostGIS, pg_stat_statements), SQLite, Jenkins, SonarQube, Docker, Git, Perforce.
