Able to develop a good rapport with clients (external and internal) and focus on clients’ needs to enhance clients overall experience.  Demonstrate excellent judgment and tact when dealing with clients, and ensure issues are investigated thoroughly when providing a response to a question or issue that has arisen.  Acquire a solid understanding of other department functions related to administration of the OMERS Pension Plan(s), in order to provide timely, accurate, and technical support to OMERS client groups.  Remain current on regulatory/policy changes relating to the OMERS Pension Plan(s), new OMERS initiatives and products as well as pension industry related trends.  Develops and maintains an effective working relationship internally with all areas including Pension Accounting, and externally with employers, members and 3rd party representatives.  Able to handle all types of calls from basic inquires to sensitive complex issues defusing situations where needed. Ability to clearly capture the key points of the call and respond to e-mail inquiries

 Accountable for processing and authorizing complex financial and non-financial business transactions of pension records to ensure the integrity of members’ files and to guarantee proper allocation of funds valued in millions of dollars. Auditing member records and required election documentation to ensure legislation set by the Ontario Pension Benefits Act are met before administering final benefit. Perform research and analysis in order to respond to client inquiries and ensure transactions are processed according to company and jurisdictional policies.
