I currently hold the position of Associate Research Scientist at NYU Langone Health, where my research centers around investigating the mechanisms of adaptive changes in macrophages induced by the RAGE-DIAPH1 axis. This project is geared towards gaining a deeper understanding of the intricate relationship between the immune system and cardiovascular physiopathology. My tenure at NYU began in July 2023, following the completion of a postdoctoral fellowship at the same institution, during which I specialized in training innate immune cells using RAGE and other small molecule inhibitors.Prior to my role at NYU, I served as a postdoctoral fellow at NIH in Baltimore from November 2019 to June 2022. During this time, my research focus revolved around elucidating the interactions between the immune system and the heart, with a specific emphasis on how these interactions impact the development and progression of cardiac diseases.My academic journey includes the attainment of a Ph.D. in cardiovascular biology from Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology in India. Notably, I was honored with the MR Das Excellence Award and a gold medal for achieving the best overall performance during my academic pursuits. My research findings have been published in prestigious international journals, including eLife, Cell Reports, Nature-Scientific Reports, Heart Failure Reviews, and Frontiers in Oncology. I possess core competencies in the fields of cell biology, molecular and cellular biology, as well as cell culture techniques.In terms of my professional aspirations, I am driven to become a leading independent scientist in the realm of biological science, with a specific focus on advancing our understanding of cardiovascular diseases and immunology.
