This is a volunteer work. I've dedicated myself to the hemophilia community as a commitment to my son and others like him who suffered because of lack of access to treatment. As President of HFI, it is my responsibility to ensure that our programs are cascaded equally to all of our chapters (now 93) and that we continually sensitize with the Union Government to push for policies in different aspects of hemophilia care. India is now far from where it was many years ago as a result of working… Show more This is a volunteer work. India is now far from where it was many years ago as a result of working closely together with different stakeholders. From almost zero 10 years ago, we now have 71 Hemophilia Treatment Centers and 8 Hemophilia Comprehensive Care Centers. However, we still need to advocate more and sensitize to relevant government agencies and officials to further improve treatment among persons with hemophilia and related bleeding disorders. Managed different programs for HFI. Among my primary responsibilities was to sensitize with different government officials to push for policies to address the needs of PWH in India. It was also during my term that HFI established the representation of Youth and Women in all the chapters. Likewise, I was responsible in organizing many fundraising events like Music Concerts, Walkathons and Hindi Laughter Shows, among others.

I joined the hemophilia community in the late 1990s after my son was born and diagnosed with hemophilia. Having seen the challenges and difficulty of persons with hemophilia, I dedicated my life in helping the community. As Vice President of Hemophilia Society Bangalore Chapter, I was responsible for the day-to-day operations. I also helped raise funds and eventually our chapter was able to build our own Hemophilia Treatment Center located at Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain Hospital.
