Vikas Kanungo is a recognized leader in the fields of AI, digital transformation and IR 4.0 digital strategies, with over 30 years of expertise in e-Governance, m-Governance, Smart Cities, and Disruptive technologies environment. He is currently serving as a Senior Digital Development Consultant with the World Bank Group and a Senior Digital Economy Specialist with FAO India. Mr. Kanungo is on the roaster of the Digital Agriculture team at the UN FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia, serving as a Digital Development Specialist. Mr. Kanungo is also the founding partner of DT4T Advisors LLP, providing strategic advisory services to governments and multilateral agencies.During his career spanning more than three decades, Mr. Kanungo has worked with country governments in India, South Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Some of the agencies he has worked with include European Commission, Asia Development Bank, UNDP, The Asia Foundation, UNESCO, Danish Technological Institute, IPTS Spain, UNU EGOV Portugal, and ITA Oman. His key engagements in India include working as an advisor with the government of India to formulate a national policy framework on mobile governance, National Consultant with UNDP to enhance the maturity of electronic public services in India, as an Agritech Consultant with FAO, and as advisor/ guest faculty with Indian Institute of Public Administration for developing a national training program for senior government officers in Digital India. Mr. Kanungo's expertise and contributions to the field have earned him recognition as a leading voice in e-Governance and smart cities. He has authored more than a dozen papers on e-Governance/ Smart cities and is co-author of the book “Digital Divides: New Challenges and opportunities of e-Inclusion” published by CRC Press in 2015. His report titled “India – Journey from Knowledge Economy to Inclusive Information Society” was released by the Indian government during WSIS Summit in Geneva as an action taken report by India on MDGs realization.He continues to undertake selective assignments in digital development and disruptive technologies management in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
