Responsible for development and implementation of processes to meet the Company's legal obligations with respect to the collection and treatment of WEEE and batteries. Provision of technical advice to all areas of the business and undertaking health and safety and Duty of Care assessments of service providers.

Responsible for legal compliance and profitability of Weee Link. Management of a a small team operating a WEEE compliance scheme, with overall responsibility for financial performance, data submission and achievement of scheme recycling and recovery obligations. Responsible for management of the collection and treatment of WEEE and batteries from the schemes' contracted HWRCs, including service implementation, negotiating and implementing contracts with subcontractors, audits of waste treatment facilities, working with third sector partners to develop WEEE reuse initiatives and implementing new WEEE collection systems such as bring banks.Account management responsibility for approximately 20 key packaging compliance scheme members and validation of approximately 250 data sets submitted to the scheme by other Account Managers and Consultants.

Responsibile for legal compliance and profitability of SWS Compak's packaging waste compliance scheme.Management of the development and operation of a packaging waste compliance scheme, previously a small operating division within a recycling company. Working with the Scheme Administrator, I was responsible for the growth of the scheme from 12 members to over 100 members, enabling scheme margins to be reduced in response to the maturing market whilst retaining profitability levels and remaining competitive. I was responsible for all scheme operations, from PRN procurement to cash flow management to data submission.Until the acquisition of SWS Compak by Integra Compliance, I was also responsible for SWS' ISO 14001 accredition and environmental legal compliance of the waste business including management of systems and process to comply with the Company's waste transfer and landfill environmental permits.

Responsible for legal environmental compliance of a waste management company operating a landfill, two transfer stations and a number of exempt sites.My role initially involved bringing a long-established waste management company into compliance with current environmental legislation, necessitating amendments to waste management licences and applications for lawful use, in order to bring historic planning permissions and licences in line with current operational activities. I developed and implemented processes to deliver compliance with permit conditions, often simply formalising exisiting arrangements and provided training to operatives.I was responsible for maintenance of records and returns required by the waste management licences including environmental monitoring (water, leachate and gas) and implementation of regulatory changes as these arose. Examples of such included provision of EWC codes on waste transfer notes, managing the landfill PPC permit application and amending fuel storage arrangements. This was an extremely practical hands-on role, working for a small family owned company and I was fortunate to be involved in all aspects of the business, which also included for example being the Saturday Site Manager on a rota basis, sale of recyclate and monitoring the profitability of specific business areas.I was responsibility for implementation and maintenance of the Company's ISO 14001 certification and management of SWS Compak.

Responsible for the development of a plastic packaging waste recycling service from concept to operational reality.Included purchase of plastic packaging waste, management of third party hauliers and the contracted recycler and sale of plastic PRNs. I also prepared financial models used for Local Authority CA site tenders and undertook noise and traffic surveys required to support planning applications, .

Responsible for determination of applications for pesticide approvalThis necessitated checking proposed label claims, validating the evidence on which approval was sought and managing inputs from specialists such as Efficacy and Pest Chem to ensure applications were determined within target time scales.

Design and implementation of a survey of waste producers to collect information to produce a Waste Management Plan.This included visiting over 200 waste producers, checking the destination of each of the wastes generated to ensure it was permitted by the recieving site licence and ensuring waste transfer notes and consignment notes were correctly completed.I was also responsible for routine inspections of licensed waste management facilities to evaluate compliance with site licence conditions.
