I capture images of celestial objects, phenomena, and landscapes that involve the night sky. My main activities include imaging Deep Space Objects (DSOs) including galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters, which require long-exposure photography and specialized equipment like telescopes, cameras, and tracking mounts. I also indulge in Planetary Photography and Wide-Field Photography from time to time. As a AAS member, I hope to share my work with the astro community and contribute to scientific research by providing images that help track celestial events or objects. Headed Google Cloud’s worldwide reliability engineering org of ~800 across North America, EMEA and APAC. Product area responsibilities: AI/ML, Databases, Data Analytics, Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Business App Platform, App Ecosystem, CRE.Google’s diverse range of integrated products makes reliable and high-performance infrastructure more difficult and important than ever. Reliability Engineering addresses these complex challenges in driving industry best cloud infra practices through high availability feature development while enabling feature velocity and coordination, reducing outages, and increasing reliability and scalability. As these systems and services have thrived, we are now working hard to achieve planet level scaling to make GCP the preferred cloud platform for our internal & external customers.

Managed an organization within the dev organization responsible for delivering architecturally viable, highly performant, scalable, reliable and resilient cloud services to Oracle’s enterprise cloud customers (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS). My team was chartered with ensuring that Oracle Cloud has the highest levels of uptime in industry. Team possessed deep expertise in software design and architecture, performance, scalability, reliability, systems, databases, analytics, cloud technologies, applications and platforms. I reported directly to Oracle’s President of SW dev Thomas Kurian.

The technical accomplishments are acknowledged company-wide with engineers in my team able to point to a strong library of performance methodologies/automation, end-to-end instrumentation, business data/scenario-based performance analysis, analytical skills, product feature development for performance, scalability, with the primary focus always on anticipating and forestalling critical issues on behalf of customers. My team collectively filed 31 patents (Engineered systems, efficient database index management, diagnostics, manageability, efficient caching in Analytics, etc.)
