FirstGuard Technologies Corporation has licensed patents for weapons detection, developed by George Mason University, and has developed new patents in the field. Weapons detection includes small arms, snipers and indirect fire weapons (mortars). In 2018 FirstGuard completed a multi-year $2.4M contract with the Office of Naval Research (ONR) to develop a prototype sniper detector. A pre-shot weapons detection prototype has been completed and successfully delivered to ONR. This and future products will support a corporate mission of “protecting our protectors” by developing technologies to safeguard military personnel and first responders.
