As a changemaker, I help people envision how excellent mental healthcare can be available to everyone, everywhere.As a psychotherapist, I help people and families impacted by substance use and mental health challenges to recover their vitality, well-being, and inspiration in life. I am available to help you and loved ones navigate forward through resolving struggles with substance abuse, anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment difficulties, co-dependence, and self-defeating behaviors. I completed a 300 hour teacher training in the Sri Yoga style in 2009. This traditional style of yoga incorporates traditional hatha asana, vinyasa, breathwork, chanting, mindfulness, lifestyle, and yogic philosophy into an approach to healing and well-being that is easily understood by people of any background. It is particularly well-suited to those completely new to body-based mindfulness modalities, with significant physical limitations, as well as anyone who wishes to deepen their experience of the links between physical and psychospiritual practices. The creator and lead teacher of the Sri Yoga style is Darin Somma. I also incorporate the teachings of Sri Mata Amritanandamayi, known simply as Amma, or the Hugging Saint, as well as the Yoga of 12-step Recovery movement into my practice.
