From the very beginning, I've always been told that JCI is an organization that gives you only as much as you're willing to invest into it. With only one year of experience in JCI, I find it extremely motivating to work with like minded individuals with the same goals as you. I took the role of Deputy President for two main reasons. 1. Increase my network of contacts and 2. experience JCI at its best. My goal for the next year is to attend as many events as possible and increase my current network of people.

I joined JCI Järvenpää in Finland to try something new that I wasn't familiar with. I joined the board for next year as I've been told that I can get the most out of this experience by joining the organisation and doing as much as possible. My main goal is to learn a new set of skills, leave my comfort zone and connect with new people that could help benefit me with my future business endeavours.I completed my year as the treasury manager for JCI Järvenpää. The year was an interesting one with one point in particular that sticks out. Around the halfway point, I was contacted by the chambers president for that year. In the email, he asked to pay a bill that he had received. After further investigation, I started getting suspicious. I asked the president through Whatsapp, wether he'd sent me the message. It turns out, that he didn't and that the presidents email was hacked. This taught me to trust my gut instinct and reassure something rather than just doing what was asked. The chamber would've lost a substantial amount of money, if I wouldn't have caught onto it. Otherwise, an interesting year that taught me the importance of organizing receipts and maintaining the budget.

Kuvatehdas is a family run business operating in Finland. Founded in 1963, Kuvatehdas has always been a one store location, working under the ideology of "let's focus on one store extremely well", which is one of the main reasons the company didn't go bankrupt when many others did during the digitalisation era in the early 2000s. I've been working at Kuvatehdas on and off since 2006, but fulltime since January 2015. During my time at Kuvatehdas, the company has expanded their operations to five store locations. My job has been to modernize the brand and company. I've been a key figure in developing new methods in business operations, due to the quick expansion of the company. I've also been the sole editor and creator for the new enhanced online store and website. Currently, through improvements to the website, SEO and investments into online marketing, I've been able to grow our online user base by roughly 150% per year.

Borderless was the result of multiple hours of brainstorming amongst three friends and colleagues. The idea behind Borderless started off as a croud sourcing postage company that connected couriers and parcels. However, we realized the massive risk and problem with the service being possibly misused by criminals. The next idea came from a problem we noticed on Amazon. Although Amazon works extremely well in the countries it operates in, however, they lack in offering guaranteed world wide shipping to countries such as Finland for example. Numerous times, I ran into the problem that "my item doesn't ship to your country". This was extremely frustrating and I felt that something needed to be done. We built a plugin, that could be downloaded onto your browser. The plugin would then alter the code and display an alternative shipping button on Amazons website, if the item couldn't be shipped to your country. The plugin would automatically make the order on the website and send it to our warehouse in the US. The parcel would then be shipped by us to the buyer. The problem with this, however, was that Amazon changed their code on a weekly basis, to fight this kind of plugin from working. This is when Borderless became the final product. We wanted to build a global marketplace for small to medium sized niche brands to help them take their brand global with guaranteed global shipping and a localised website to every country in the world. The website was ready and operational and we started focusing on acquiring brands. However, we ran out of capital and started working full-time. Currently Borderless is on standby and perhaps in the future when we have the funds and time we will continue to pursue this project.

Started mandatory basic military training in the Finnish marine corps in January 2014. Completed officer training and finished training as a navy corporal. In September, I was promoted to navy sergeant and maintain this status in the reserves. Officer training taught me about the fundamentals of leading a large group effectively. This knowledge was put into practice by taking charge of training new recruits for the navy vessel I was serving on. Out of roughly 150 officer trainees, I was the 4th out of approximately 10 in total who were promoted to sergeant.
