About Ville Vanhala
- How do you help your attendees and sponsors to meet the most relevant people at your event?- Can you measure your event impact; how many meetings took place, who met whom, and what drives people at your event?- What do you think your attendees and sponsors remember 3 months after your event? Is the content, or is it the meaningful connections you helped them to build?I believe a high-quality event experience is a combination of great speakers and the opportunity to meet the most relevant people effortlessly.Looking forward to speaking with you!Ville Vanhala:Make everyday someone's day!For me, it's all about respecting the people I’m surrounded by. You'll never be successful alone; you need the people around you. This mindset originated in my youth when I was eminently bullied. That experience taught me the lesson: the approbation of others is essential and the only way you can truly make a difference.

Sales Team Manager, Singapore
I managed and coached our Sales Team in Singapore. My goal was to maximize the teams' sales energy, focus and motivation: WHAT we do, HOW we do it and especially WHY we do this. In that respect, I provided all of my experience to develop the new team to reach their full potential.
Sales Manager
It was great to be part of the Management Events Sales team. All of my colleagues were veterans or company legends. I was told: "It will be a rocky road young man, but if you manage to sell during this economical situation, you can be sure you can do anything in the future". I began with 2 buying customers in my portfolio. After 1.5 years I established 46 buying customers and the turnover of my sales summed just over 1.4 million Dollars. I began with 2 buying customers in my portfolio. After 1.5 years I established 46 buying customers and the turnover of my sales summed just over 1.4 million Dollars. My customers were from a diverse array of backgrounds ranging from small start-ups to multinational enterprises. Almost all of them were new sales and began as cold contacts. However, Management Events was a dream job I always had another dream to do my Masters degree in the US. The reason for this is simple: I wanted to be surrounded by people who are better at story-telling than I am. So I made a big decision, applied to a masters program in SF, took a loan from the bank and eventually got accepted! This is one of the moments I call: "a big turning point of my life". Show less

Inside Sales Representative
I worked as an Inside Sales Representative in the Nordic Image and Printing department at Hewlett Packard in Barcelona. I worked together with 11 different nationalities in an effort to achieve a mutual goal: seeking potential customers, creating the need and delivering a hot lead to our sales managers. My leads were quite strong, one of which delivered a bit over 5m Euros. Perhaps this was the reason I was offered a permanent position at HP in Finland. During this time working for Hertz I became particularly good driver. Working at Hertz was fun because we were able to meet lot of customers and it was always interesting to try different techniques when selling the insurance. Selling the insurance was basically our only way to earn a commission. Apparently I was good at selling those insurances because I was offered a job after my summer job ended. Marketing & Sales Assistant (Intern)
I was actually the first Finn working for this company. My goal was to open doors to new market opportunities in Finland. I've been told I opened doors pretty well. After my internship, I wrote my thesis about "Emotional Intelligence and Quality Service in Personal Sales", which was eventually published in a business book in Finland. Show less

This would be the starting point of my career. It was autumn 2001. I was about to start my one week internship in Minimani - this relatively big supermarket. My father said to me that, "son, try to do your job as good as you can, perhaps they can offer you a place to pack customers Christmas presents". I tried as hard as I could imagine and in fact, after that one week as a trainee they offered to me a permanent contract in the company with a salary of 32 Finnish marks. Amazing! I tried as hard as I could imagine and in fact, after that one week as a trainee they offered to me a permanent contract in the company with a salary of 32 Finnish marks. Amazing! Of all possible candidates in the world they decided to choose me, 15 years old kid. Since then I have been following my father's advice whatever I do.At age of 15, my diligence was rewarded with responsibility of taking care of commissions. I was ordered to replace the Head of the Department lady on her summer vacation. Later during my career, I was appointed as the head of frozen goods and meat. In addition, every New Year I was responsible to organize and manage the firework sales - my first real face to face customers. Come and ask about my sales dialogues, I was truly on fire. After selling my last package of fireworks - I moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina. I was lucky to be accepted to an exchange program. I call that moment: "a first big turning point of my life". Show less
