Job description:● Lead project purchasing● Develop & implement an integrated set of purchasing actions that anticipate on the needs of the business within the supply market strategy, Evaluate worldwide market for sourcing opportunities, especially in Asia ● Identify new potential manufactures and contractors and review suppliers’ legal, physical and financial status. Verify suppliers’ capabilities and capacities to produce the targeted commodities. Conduct pre-screening and desk review for the technical/quality requirements. Carry-out screening survey to verify the manufacturer’s true technical & quality capabilities. Establish contract, pricing and key terms through negotiations with suppliers.● Manage supplier relationship and drive continuous improvement in supplier quality, cost, delivery and service. Review suppliers’ behaviour by quarterly as to adjust suppliers’ level according to their score. Support logistic team to deal with abnormal of delivery, making forecast and built the safely inventory plan and ensure smooth operations within great China supply chain.● Save cost by constantly explore and develop alternative sources, with key focus on supplier localization in China to replace overseas vendors for the company, and optimizing supply chain. Measure and monitor commodity market trends and conditions, and provide appropriate reports and recommendations to Tier I suppliers. Achievement:●Achieved 3% cost reduction (about USD 500K) on the cost review of Q4 2009 for retail production line.●Prevented a supplier from driving up 10% cost increase successfully (about €50,000) for Euro emergency lighting plant in April 2010.
