I have always been interested in technical matters. I started on international sales for air traffic control and defense systems (radar and sonar). With an interest in innovation, I took a management position to create value from the technology portofolio of THALES group. In contact with innovators, I studied real cases of start up creation and I naturally have created mine (TAGES S.A.S) dealing in the field of optical disc anti-copy. From this hardware technology which was industrialized for the video game industry and that we transfered to the USA, we went out of the discs for electronically distributed software with a web service (online activation). The key objective is to hide and protect (against braking) our highly exposed routines which deal with user (digital) rights management (D.R.M). For such delimitated goal, only the very code obfuscation solution may have a chance in the most exposed segment of AAA PC game piracy. This pressure brought me closer to SOLIDSHIELD company, which had developed their fully dynamic solution (generating totally different protection layer for each game). That was very exciting technically and we joined forces. We got closer and closer to the central activity in IT security: software anti reverse engineering and anti tampering and this drove me back to the defense sector for which we develop a fully compliant solution with specific requirements.Future is Softwarization. Software will take the lion share of added value and competitive edge.Software theft requires zero hard investment and software patent a very risk alley. The need for technical protection is a vital move to take. Softwarization also goes with higher cyberwar exposure.Software protection provides instant reactivity in case of attack (which no one can block). Whatever elaborate safe execution techniques on platforms, software protection will always be bringing an additional edge and featuring an instant reaction ability when an attack has succeeded.
