Type 2 Wildland fire crew undertaking prescribed burns to maintain and restore endangered Sandplain grassland habitat on Nantucket Island.

Primarily identifying Northern Harrier (same species as Hen harrier) nests and habitat usage. Secondary role is to identify all other bird species and nest sites within land ownership area.

Primary responsibilities include researching and writing Appropriate Assessments and Environmental Impact Statement Chapters. Duties as a field ecologist include performing site habitat surveys, bird and freshwater invertebrate surveys and regular water sampling. Tracked released juvenile eagles using radio transmitters and GPS devices.
