(1) Managing Wide Area Network emulator (WANem) programmatically: Setting up a transparent application gateway on a local device to simulate WAN characteristics like Network delay, Packet loss, Bandwidth, Disconnections, Packet re-ordering, Jitter, etc by downloading a big file using HTTP based FTP server. A python script from the server-side and simulating over two lines (DSL and T1). In addition to it I had built a "network shaper"​ which can be controlled by any remote machines and I had written a bash script to emulate the traffic in the shaper. I've used TC(traffic control) commands, which uses queuing disciplines such as HTB, TBF, and NETEM. This network shaper was emulated as real DSL and obtained similar characteristics as the real DSL. (2) Familiarized with the Network Performance Monitoring tool (PRTG): Monitored a computer network (implemented inside the Mushroom Networks Devices) for slow or failing components and get notified in case of outages. Monitored the bandwidth, Syslog receiver, VOIP, Netflow, SNMP trap, HTTP XML/REST value, etc. Also customized the PRTG website to Mushroom Networks monitoring tool website using HTML and CSS. Wrote a custom script for HTTP JSON/REST Value sensor using Powershell. Running this script showed the value of a defined JSON node.(3) Familiarized with Open vSwitch : Configured a simple OVS bridge and created a tap interface to the open virtual switch. Utilities learnt – ovs-dpctl, ovs-ofctl, ovs-vsctl, ocs-appctl, ovs-pki. (4) Familiarized with the Mushroom Networks Products - Truffle, Truffle Lite, Truffle V, Portabella, Virtual Leased Lines, etc. The Truffle Software-Defined WAN Orchestration and Broadband Bonding appliance enable cost-effective and self-healing Internet access for businesses, enterprise branch offices and other multi-tenant buildings.
