I am an environmental scientist pivoting to a career in software development. I am passionate about solving problems with programming especially with .NET and C#. Currently, I am student at Brigham Young University - Idaho (BYU-Idaho) working on my Computer Programming certificate as I pursue a Bachelor's degree in Applied Technology. I completed a Web Frontend certificate in July 2022 and will complete my Computer Programming Certificate in December 2024. In January 2025, I will begin working on my Web Development certificate which will help me to develop my skills in backend development. I am currently seeking employment as software developer that will help me solidify the skills and knowledge gained during my education at BYU-Idaho. My professional and personal life has provided me with a breadth of knowledge and skills that will enable me to be a productive software developer. Currently, I review highly-detailed Nutrient Management Plans and draft National Pollutant Discharge Elimination permits for confined animal feeding operations (CAFO) in Kansas. My high attention-to-detail and outstanding origanizational skills empower me to discover discrepancies that must be corrected to ensure compliance with federal and Kansas laws. As a CAFO inspector, I developed my exceptional ability to provide technical assistance to CAFO operators regarding maintaining compliance with their permit. My patient and calm demeanor often facilitated a resolution to conflict as I worked with operators to return to a compliant status with their permits and Kansas laws. I know the skills I developed make me an adaptable and outstanding software developer.I am eager to connect with software development professionals and fellow students who are enthusiastic about resolving problems with code. Let's get together to collaborate and discuss opportunities for mentorship and professional development.
