I created my company, Atkinson Creates, LLC, to provide consultant art direction, graphic design and production services for clients. Projects included: ebooks, infographics, brochures, posters, flyers, sell sheets, logos and branding, in-store displays, emails, web landing pages, direct mail, promotion, video, experiential events and digital ads for Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram. I worked both on-site and off-site for various clients. I was recruited to work at Source Marketing (which became Doner CX on Jan. 1, 2018) because of my direct mail expertise and experience working on pharmaceutical and financial services accounts. During the ten years I was Senior Art Director there, I also worked on healthcare, insurance, nonprofit, and consumer accounts doing strategic, effective multichannel marketing, and working collaboratively with colleagues in creative, account and production. Because I had over 10 years running my own graphic design firm earlier in my career and extensive production knowledge, I was recruited by senior management to transform the studio into a profitable and excellent service center. My responsibilities included: evaluating studio productivity and profitability; creating an efficient workflow; hiring, evaluating and training staff and freelancers; tracking billable hours; managing digital assets, naming conventions and server space; prepping, releasing and posting files for print production; maintaining and upgrading all studio hardware and software. I also partnered with and coordinated key internal client, vendor and agency personnel; purchased rights-managed and royalty-free stock art; negotiated fees; cut purchase orders and tracked licensing agreements. Hired as an Art Director at BrannBlau, later I was promoted to Senior Art Director. BrannBlau eventually became Euro RSCG 4D. My responsibilities included designing highly-targeted, personalized direct mail that was on brief, on time and on budget, primarily for financial services accounts, marketing credit cards as well as Home Equity Advantage Programs (HEAP) and Home Equity Lines of Credit (HELOC). I also presented creative concepts to clients dynamically and efficiently and pitched new accounts using effective creative concepting, strong RFP design, and excellent presentation skills.
